Joe Galante has spent his career working to make sure Nashville is relevant in the nation's music industry. That hasn't changed since he retired as chairman of Sony Music Nashville in 2010.
Galante remains one of the Nashville music industry's most influential figures. After a 40-year career on Music Row, Galante is the force behind Project Music, the Nashville Entrepreneur Center's push into music technology.
it was his connections and influence that convinced a skeptical music industry to put its money behind the effort.
Galante also was recently named chairman of the Country Music Foundation, which focuses on music education, and the Music City Music Council, which helps music-related businesses expand or relocate to Nashville.
